End Corporate Personhood

From our friend David Cobb of Democracy Unlimited of Humboldt County, updates on the movement to stop corporate personhood in the wake of the recent Supreme Court decision: In These Times magazine ran an article by Move to Amend attorneys Ben Manski and Lisa Graves. They write that, "The only genuine alternative to de facto acquiescence to the Court’s dictate is a democracy movement—a new American renaissance organized from below, based in communities across America, and prepared to overrule theCourt by reclaiming, amending, and renewing our Constitution."Riki Ott and Cobb just concluded a barnstorming tour of Oregon and Washington. They visited 14 cities and towns in 14 days, and every community has agreed to host follow-up meetings/events to advance the call for constitutional amendments! The Seattle event was picked up and praised in the Post-Intelligencer newspaper. If you are interested in hosting presentations by Move to Amend organizers in your community, contact Democracy Unlimited at info@movetoamend.org or call 707-269-0984.
