Keynote: David Ray Griffin: 9/11 and Nationalist Faith |
"People of faith" are often accused of allowing their faith to override evidence. This is sometimes the case. With regard to 9/11, the greatest obstacle to seeing the truth - that 9/11 could have been an inside job - is not the lack of evidence, but what can be called 'nationalist faith' - the belief that America is the "exceptional nation" whose leaders never deliberately do anything truly evil, at least to their own citizens. |

GRITtv: Eric Boehlert: Bloggers on the Bus |
Back in 2002 the blogosphere was hardly something that attracted attention. That spring MyDD, Daily Kos, and Atrios launched. They were all small ventures to begin with, had few if any staffers, and operated on shoe string budgets. Today they're part of the media landscape. Eric Boehlert, in his new book, Bloggers on the Bus, looks at the rise of the blogoshpere, the 2008 election, and the impact they've had on traditional media and American politics. What will become of them now that they've gone from blogging on the bus to Washington and the White House? |

GRITtv: Nurses Continue to Protest Senate Healthcare Hearings |
Geri Jenkins, a registered nurse and co-president of the California Nurses Association, brings us up to date on continuing protests against the exclusion of single payer advocates at Senate Finance Committee hearings on healthcare. As the hearing began 25 protesters stood and turned their backs to the senators. They were wearing signs that called on congress to pass a single payer system. "Nurses say patients first," the signs read. "Pass single payer." Though most of the protesters left after about five minutes, a few remained to voice their opposition. |
