Eric Byler, co-founder of the Coffee Party USA, joins the Thom Hartmann Program to discuss a flash rally set for Thursday at noon at the supreme court. The rally is to urge the court to revisit two year old the citizens united ruling. The supreme court of Montana ruled to uphold a century old law that banned corporations from spending money to influence elections. The Coffee Party is trying to show that the court of public opinion has already ruled that the citizens united ruling is negatively impacting elections.

Occupy movement activists broke up a State of the Energy industry gathering on Sunday. The event included lobbying groups hyping the benefit of dirty fossil fuels. Protestors mic checked the event saying "big oil lies are hurting Americans, our economy, and our environment," and "big oil is raking in record profits at the expense of the American people."

Republicans in Florida are considering legislation that will allow lawmakers to privatize parts of the commons and outsource government duties to private corporations. The legislation being proposed would make these commons be privatized after the contracts are already signed, making it impossible for citizens to vote or protest.
