Viewer Comment: Jan. 16, 2009: Knocking Obama
"'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country! - John F. Kennedy.' I'm sick and tired of each issue coming up and it seems like everyone wants to blame our president or his staff. President Obama took an office that was crap, and he's doing his best to clean it up. It didn't occur overnight, and it will not disappear overnight. It's time for every American to watch each other's back for that's the only way we are going to survive. There's too much mine, mine, mine. I hope that America wakes up in 2010." - Mattie (sent via email)
Viewer Comments: Jan. 11, 2009: Healthcare, Climate Change, Palestine
Our viewers have strong feelings about today's issues: Healthcare: "The Non-Healthcare Bill. It is disgusting. No government money shall be used for abortion purposes? ... All the government money you want can be spent to abort lives of eighteen years or older. No problem there"; Climate Change: "We have no money for health care. We have no money to take care of the sick and the homeless, but we're going to give a hundred billion dollars that we don't have on a non-binding agreement?"; Palestine: "Your choice of video about the Palestine issue is very good because all the while I was watching 'Unborn in the USA,' even though I'm pro-life, I was thinking, 'these people don't realize that George Bush had a big hand in murdering all kinds of little kids and all kinds of countries in the Middle East.'" Viewer Comment: Dec. 29, 2009
FSTV viewer Robin comments on the need for health-care reform. She writes: "No one should be made homeless by the cost of healthcare, and there is no excuse for the abominable rate of infant mortality that is equal to third world infant mortality rates. How can we help others if we cannot help ourselves to change these horrific trends?" Click on the video to read her entire comment. Viewer Comments: Dec. 7, 2009: Obama Troop Increase
A viewer calls: "Barack Obama is going to be sending more troops to Afghanistan. Where's the "Yes We Can!" Obama? Where is the change you promised? He's never been in the service. He's never seen a day of war … Perhaps we should take a closer look at his investment portfolio just to see where his warmongering and his war profiteering attitude lies." How do you feel? Viewer Comment: Nov. 24, 2009: Democracy Lives Here
Sam calls us from Santa Cruz, Cal.: "I think you guys are the best and democracy lives here. This is the only way we're going to make it work and we have to get together Get online and share, ok? Let's make it grow. We'll take it over. We can protest online. This is how we make it work. Thank you." Add your own voice by email or calling our Viewer Comment line at 1-888-378-8855.
Viewer Comments: Nov. 24, 2009: Accountability
A viewer calls in: "My house is in foreclosure, and I'm trying to work something with the bank and I keep getting, you know, trickery where they tell me they're going to modify it and I'd make the payments and then when I get done paying it, they don't do it. This is my point: If the citizens are held to such extreme, rigorous standards, then the banks themselves should be held to the exact same standards … This is bank robbery! … Spread the word: Accountability. -- Carl, Pt. Viewer Comments: Nov. 23, 2009: Thom Hartmann
A viewer calls: "I watch primarily for the news and commentary, specifically Amy Goodman and Laura Flanders, and I'm happy to see that you've add Thom Hartmann to your programming and wonder if it would be possible to broadcast his entire show during the afternoon. And also I think that it's a good programming move adding radio broadcasts like that, and I wonder if you've ever thought about maybe adding "Free Speech Radio News." Again, thank you for what you do. It's good to have an alternative to the junk that I get on the regular networks. - Anonymous. Viewer Comments: Nov. 17, 2009: The Corporation
A viewer sends an email: "Hi, thanks for all the wonderful programming. I'm especially thankful for 'Gay USA.' A few weeks back, you aired a piece on the comparison between the actions of a corporation and the actions of a psychopath. It was remarkable how similar they are! I'd like a few friends to get the chance to view that piece (I'd like to see it again as well). Is it scheduled to be aired again?" - Vince. "Hi Vince, the film is called "The Corporation," by Mark Achbar, who also produced "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media" with filmmaker Peter Wintonick. It’s not currently scheduled, but it will be (we’re giving it a break after lots of repeats during the recent pledge drive). For latest schedule updatesplease visit our TV Schedule here." - Free Speech TV
