Elizabeth Warren raised more than $1 million in one day on Thursday for her senate campaign in Massachusetts. Warren is an advocate for wall street reform and for the middle class. Scott Brown still holds a 2 to 1 advantage as far as money raised for the seat, as Brown is receiving huge donations from wall street bankers.

Arnie Arnesen says that Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry will become unlikely spokespeople for the occupy movement in South Carolina. That comment was followed by a quote read by Amy Goodman from Romney surrogate, John Sununu saying that "Newt Gingrich sounds like a socialist attacking Romney around Bain." Amy also reads a quote from Rick Perry calling Romney a "vulture capitalist." Arnesen laughs and says that occupy wall street has not only changed the conversation in the country, but that it will now be reinforced by Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry.

Harper magazine columnist and best selling author Thomas Frank argues that President Obama needs to start talking about some of the rhetoric of the Occupy movement. He points out that Roosevelt kept bailing out the economy but opposed Wall Street and built the economy by "starting at the grassroots level" and rebuilding small financial institutions. Obama, in contrast, gave money to Wall Street.

More than 12.5 million dollars will be spent on the election in Iowa; 2/3rd's of which by super pacs which allow individuals and corporations to drop unlimited amounts of money to a campaign. The occupy movement is protesting in Iowa to get money out of politics.

Time Names Protester Person of the Year 12/13/11

Time magazine named its person of the year, 'The Protester,' citing the Arab spring, anti-austerity demonstrations in Greece and the rise of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Time said, "All over the world, protesters in 2011 share a belief that their country's political systems and economies have grown dysfunctional and corrupt, sham democracies rigged to favor the rich and powerful and prevent significant change."

Occupy Vs. Tea Party Big Picture 12/13/11

Members of the occupy movement met with local Tea Party members in Richmond, VA. They wanted to see if they had any common ground. Tea Party members learned that occupiers were more informed than the "young hippie" stereotype, and together they learned that they have some of the same targets including corporate greed. They also concluded that the Tea Party may have been co-opted by individuals with special interests.

DN!: Gingrich Tax Break Plan 12/13/11

In his tax plan, he plans to give a $430 thousand tax cut to the 1 percent, and a $2.3 million tax break for the top .1 percent while more than half of the nation's poorest 50 percent would receive no tax benefits. The Tax Policy center estimates that the plan would add $1 trillion to the federal deficit in one year.

This same mystical financing of poisoned farms, of dead oceans, of cancerous children and national false emotions - all this comes at us now as a bad surprise. We have a fresh rage.
