Thank you.

Dear Gay USA, I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your in depth, independent coverage of subjects that other news and political shows would never dare to cover. Being a homosexual teen in rural Arkansas doesn't make it easy to access gay media and news. If it weren't for your show, I'm not sure how I would be so informed and so armed to face the ignorance of those who would spurn us. I appreciate your help in our ongoing battle. Travis

News Item

Hello. First off, Thanks for the show. Wish it was broadcast during the daylight hours in my area (Utah), but 3am is better than not at all. Great work. I have a news item for you that's big news in Utah, and to members of the LDS faith. The Mormon apostle, Dallin Oaks, made some rather asinine comments recently claiming the post prop 8 backlash against Mormons was like the discrimination blacks received in their struggle for civil rights. Here's a link to a newspaper article about this: http://www.sltrib.com/ci_13552589 Thought you might be interested. Cheers, Geoff P. Park City, Utah

Gay USA comment

Why are people switching from "GLBT" or "GBLT" or "GLB" to "LGBT"? Often times, alphabetical order would make the most sence - "BGLT" - and "GLB" or "GLBT" came first. Whether they admit it or not, more people are bi anyway. Who pushed the letter "L" in front of the gay men's "G"? It doesn't sound better.

I miss the weekly Gay USA videos on this site. I get so annoyed when the videos are not updated in a timely manner. I'm even more annoyed that Comcast does not carry Free Speech TV in the Boston suburban areas.

new Gay USA episodes coming soon

Sorry, folks, for the recent drop-off of new Gay USA episodes posted to our video-on-demand library. We plan to rectify the problem shortly, returning to the posting of new episodes weekly. Thanks for your patience.

Michael Jackson and Ian Halperin

Hello Guys,

I'm a great fan of your show! However, I was not especially impressed when I went to Amazon.com today to check out the biography of Michael Jackson written by Ian Halperin that you referred to in your recent show, in which you claimed that MJ was likely gay based on conclusions in Halperin's recently released biography. I'm not suggesting that Halperin was necessarily wrong about Jackson's sexual orientation, but I wish that you had used a source with a professional reputation for more substantive research and less sensationalism. I just spent about a half hour reading reviews of the book and researching Ian Halperin, and I was not especially impressed. I think that on a quality program such as yours, if airtime is alloted to discussing theories about the "King of Pop", your sources should be more of the "high end" variety. Incidentally, the book was only rated two out of five stars on the average (by 69 reviewers) on Amazon.

Sincerely,
JEB

scheduling of podcasts

WhenI moved from Santa Cruz to palm springs, I gave up Dish Network satellite TV... I have been disapointed for the last couple years now that the local time Warner does not offer Gay USA.
I have been aware of podcasts for a while but it has never been convenient to listen even with my Iphone in the car... so....when I discovered that I can watch Gay USA from the freespeech.org website, I was delighted....

but now I see that the most recent available program is June 26th (today is July 25th).. obviously since news moves so quickley these days, watching month old programs is not helpful to keep up with current events,

am I missing something??? or if not, are there plans to post shows more frequently so viewers who do not have access GAYUSA via their cable company can remain loyal viewers??

please advise

Updates

The last video is now about a month old. Will this page be updated with new videos?

hope

it's not often my generation is represtented in any glbt forum so i have to say how nice it is to see the two of you each week. you both speak with the voice of authority, the authority of well earned experience and integrity. my bonnet is off to you and your whole staff there at gaytv.

there was a time when i well believed that christine jorgensen and i represented the whole of the transsexual existence here on this planet. i was wrong. in the past five years i have found that we are but tiny little specks in a vast horizon of wonderful and gifted people who share what we figured was ours alone. finding out that one is not alone is the primordial stuff of hope: good stuff that is.

hope, too, is something that seems to be in pretty short supply among those of us who do habitate this particular alphabet acronym...glb...and...what was that?...oh yes, t. i can't tell you how surprised and hopeful i was when i started watching your show and found that the t wasn't an afterthought there. both of you have a firm grasp of what "human" rights mean and you do seem to take a very holistic approach to reporting news of concern to the whole community you represent. that's quite a statement in these times when the t usually is an afterthought. my bonnet comes off again. but, and here it comes....so much of the news is made up of bad stuff. this nut is doing that and some other nut is doing something even nuttier and on and on. that's all interesting and surely is the truth, but other things happen too. there are more and more reasons for hope every day. more and more of the mainstream are willing to give us a chance. sure, they mostly have negative opinions at first but so many are now willing to take a more critical look...given the opportunity. i wish we could see more stories that offer hope. hope can lead those who don't know how to offer up the opportunity for others to take that more critical look at us to give it some thought. one who thinks something they want very badly is possible is more likely to take a shot at it. isn't that what all of us really want in the long run...just a shot at it? more shots-more hits, more hits-less resistance, less resistance...well, you know.

much love and HOPE. pj

ps...there is no truth to the rumor that my real name is polyanna penny!

Love it

hey I want to say that you 2 guys are doing a great job.Even when you 2 are getting into a disagreeable discusion. Also at imes youguys are humorous, especially at soe o the ignoramous out there(sorry of any misspelling). So keep up the good work and here is a couple kudos and at-a-boy and at-a-girl for you both

Love It!!

I love that thiers a place i can go to get news thats relative to me, however there may not be too much good news, i feel like with things like Gay USA, we can all finally get to the sweet, bright light at the end of this forever long tunnel many having been hoping for all thier lives for...HOORAY GAY USA!!!
