Gay USA: Maine Opens Marriage to Same-Sex Couples; NH Close
Gov. John Baldacci of Maine has reversed himself and agreed to sign the bill passed by the legislature this week opening marriage to same-sex couples. We hope that New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch will also do so. Same-sex couples can now legally marry in the US in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, and Iowa. "Gay USA," hosted by Ann Northrop and Andy Humm, offers comprehensive weekly news and analysis by and about the LGBTQ community.

The Dems, in their madcap
The Dems, in their madcap (and ideologically driven) hurry to get the Gay Marriage bill passed, kicked out the lone Republican, Senator Sheila Roberge, from the reconciliation committee trying to get the wording from Governor Lynch "equalized" between the Senate and House bills. Here's his take on that action (and the 'Grok say both Welcome and Thanks!): Legislatures frequently deal with issues that elicit passionate responses from their members. For hundreds of years, legislatures made up of varied citizens have dealt with heated issues and passionate convictions through the careful maintenance of rules and decorum. That decorum appears to have been callously laid aside by both chambers of this General Court, and if not immediately rectified, it will only produce mistrust and cynicism. While both parties apparently have been "flexible" with their application of duly adopted rules during their tenure in the majority, citizens should expect that the rules are rules and that they will be followed. The incident in question is the Committee of Conference for HB73. This conference is to deal with the failure of the General Court to pass the Lynch Amendment for Same-Sex Marriage. Any such committee has members appointed from the Senate by the Senate President, and appointed from the House by the House Speaker. Senate Rule 19 specifies that Committees of Conference must attain unanimity on the question at hand to report back to the chambers for further action. Senate Rule 28 specifies that all committees (specifically including Committees of Conference) must have representatives of both parties. In the case of the Senate members, it is reported that the Senate President, in an effort to comply with unanimity rule 19, violated rule 28 on minority representation in the summary dismissal of Senator Roberge (R-Bedford) from the committee and the substitution of the more compliant Senator Houde (D-Plainfield), who voted by telephone in absentia, probably due to the circumstances of the minority member's dismissal.
GAY USA importance
I consider this program to be the most important show on TV for the USA and world community. Its imperative people know and understand all that is happening in the world. If you are GLBT et el its even more important to understand world activities because their are too many demonic terroristic sadistic mean spirited people in the world who would love an opportunity to hurt or kill people who are not like them, ignorant and mindless and heartless. They have no understanding of what it means to be compassionate or a sensitive human as they suffer from sever mental illnesses.
Even I am surprised their really are people in the world who seem to function day to day when they have serious mental illnesses. But we have to protect ourselves against their cruelty. We can do that by paying attention to the information delivered each week by the hosts of Gay USA.
Thank you Free Speech TV for giving this show equal air time. It is so important and can not loose their place on this network.
Thank you!
