directv?
Wish I could watch you on Directv, my tv provider. Looks like you have great programs. I heard about you on Tom Hartman's radio show today.
direct tv
Same here - we are choosing between directtv and dish and have a lot of direct tv equipment so were leaning toward that. What is the status, why aren't you on DirectTv and do you think you will be in the future?
Free Speech TV and DirectTV
Thanks for your questions and concerns. FSTV will be on DirectTV beginning around the end of April. We'll be making an announcement about that soon. Cheers, Leland/FSTV Web Editor

South Asian Perspective - a weekly current affairs program
South Asia today is amongst the world's poorest and simultaneously richest rehions. Plagued with poverty and violence, yet endowed with stunning beauty and a rich cultural heritage. When India and Pakistan entered the nuclear club, the region overnight became the world's 'most dangerous' place to live in. But the hostility between India and Pakistan - which frequently dominates world headlines - tend to skew international perceptions of the region. This limited perception relegates other South Asian issues to sidelines. South Asia is home to more than one billion people, dozens of religions and faiths, several races and hundred of languages. Alternative Media - Unconventional Journalists Two South Asian journalists- Ibrahim Sajid Malick (from Pakistan) and Pramilla Srivastava (of Indian origin) have been married for over 18 years - collaborating on news stories, short documentaries, print and on-line journalism. South Asian Perspective- weekly This 22 minute Weekly program will feature two 4-6 minutes packages- one from Pakistan and another India. These packages will be produced and filed by our team in New Delhi and Islamabad. Anchors – Ibrahim and Pramilla will introduce stories from each other’s countries of origin. Ibrahim will take the lead on introducing Indian story and Pramilla will introduce story filed by the Pakistani journalist. Each show will have a special guest – either in New York or via IP Video from India or Pakistan. We will debate key issues – argue our points but with the strongest commitment to conflict resolution. We are committed to providing South Asian perspective on news, and present viewpoints that are absent from corporate media both in the United States and in South Asia. We are looking for platform interested in alternative South Asian coverage. There are over 2 million South Asians living in the United States – there are 15 Satellite TV Channels dedicated to this market – but not a single alternative voice. Brief Bio of Co-Host: Mr. Ibrahim S. Malick has over 20 years of news media and communications experience from reporting for daily newspapers and digital media to technical writing and communications for Fortune 100 companies. He has worked for Daily News, Frontier Post, Muslim (Pakistani daily newspapers), Duetsche Welle, SAMWonline, WBAI New York, SADATV and contributed for BBC. He covered Afghanistan in late 1980s and wrote a book, "Afghanistan Dorahay par" (Afghanistan on cross roads). Previously, Mr. Malick owned and operated SAMWonline, Asia’s one of the first news portal and managed a team of 73 including 21 journalists. Sample of Interviews: Benazir Bhutto Dr. Najib Ullah, President Afghanistan Several Pakistani Politicians Shashi Tharoor, UN Undersecretary Several heads of UN Organizations Several heads on Fortune 1000 companies Several American scholars Memberships and Accreditation: United Nations Correspondent Association State Department- Foreign Media Society of American Journalist South Asian Journalist Association New York Press Club Education M.A Anthropology, New School University, New York, New York - 1992 B.A Political Science, University of Karachi, Pakistan – 1987 Diploma in TV Production - Center for Media Arts, New York, New York 1985 www.ibrahimsajidmalick.com
future
Hi FSTV, Thanks for having Thom Hartman. J.T. Miami FL
You know what you guys need?
You know what you guys need? You need a form that people can print out or digitally fill out and then forward on to their TV/cable provider to ask that they start carrying FSTV.
I don't get FSTV and now I'm going to write out a request and mail it to my cable provider asking them to consider picking up FSTV.
What I'm saying is if you did most of the work for your users and all they had to do was put their name in and copy/paste the letter to their provider you would probably have a decent response you know?

What city are you in? Do you still have a public access channel, and have you and others lobbied Time Warner to return FSTV to the airwaves? --Jon
Contracts Change
I'm sorry to hear that. You might consider calling or writing your new cable operator and ask for Free Speech TV. Meanwhile, you can watch FSTV's programming in real time on the Internet (http://www.freespeech.org/free-speech-tv-live) or On Demand (http://www.freespeech.org/videos-demand). Thanks for writing.

contracts changed
I live in the Western Part of Monroe County in NY. I did contact our cable provider and they told me that they have no ability to get Free Speech TV right now because they don't have a satellite dish. Does that make sense? So he didn't say they wouldn't ever, he just said that they don't currently have the ability. I wish I knew more about what the public access rights are and how I could make this happen.
