Action Update: Help Earthquake Victims in Haiti

Are there any efforts to provide shelter for refugees from the earthquake? I am currently unemployed & have very limited funds; however, I do have an extra room AND I am sure I could feed a couple of extra people for a while. I want desperately to help the Haitians. Seeing the homeless survivors wandering the streets in the newscasts is breaking my heart. Then to here conservative pundits like Pat Robertson & Rush Limbaugh spout there venom insinuating that this disaster was somehow "deserved" or that the American people are "suffering too much themselves"--- well, I've come very near screaming at me TV several times. I keep thinking that there must be others in my position--- wanting to help but lacking any funds with which to do so. However, I'd bet at least some of us have "extra space" in our homes. Is there any way to organize such an effort? PS I also have a degree in psychology, experience as a practical nurse, and a lifetime of mothering & grandmothering. I would hope that I could offer comfort and snactuary as well as shelter & food.
