Preserving our heritage
What an incredible program. I worry that the basic knowledge of sustainable food production is endangered. We desperately need to share the methods and techniques of growing food crops with young people. More importantly, students need to understand the connection between heirloom, culturally relevant foods and the heritage that links the past with the present. Local food production can be accomplished no matter where we live. Local food production may be our saving grace.
