Stand Your Ground Law in Question

The law that has kept George Zimmerman, the killer of 17 year old Trayvon Martin, from being arrested is an ALEC and NRA endorsed law. Former Florida Senator Durell Peadon, who introduced the law, told CBS news that he thinks Zimmerman should be arrested for the murder of Trayvon Martin. A witness on CNN said that the cops seemed to have a nonchalant attitude and on Zimmerman's side. Josh Horwitz, from the National Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, says that its this law that makes it easier to kill people. Before 2005, he says, he would have been arrested immediately for murder.
