Let’s build something powerful together.

Free Speech TV (FSTV) is a nonprofit, independent media network dedicated to bold, unfiltered news and storytelling that drives social change. We partner with mission-aligned organizations, creators, and changemakers to uplift voices that are often ignored by corporate media. When you partner with FSTV, your show, campaign, or initiative gains access to a national audience of conscious, engaged viewers who care about justice, democracy, and community. Whether you’re interested in content distribution, cross-promotion, co-branded campaigns, or mission-based sponsorships, we’re here to co-create meaningful partnerships that make a difference.

Impact Partnership Program

Organizing for an America that Works for All

Free Speech TV is resistance media. We are an integral part of the movement to unite folks across identities of race, gender, generation and geography with a vision of an America that works for everyone. Free Speech TV partners with groups working to build collective power to protect our freedoms, families and futures.

Why Should My Organization Partner With FSTV?

We can extend the profile, reach and impact of your organization by reaching 20 million US television homes, as well as large audiences on multiple digital platforms, in urban, suburban and remote rural areas alike. Free Speech TV is a valuable partner for raising your organization’s profile and for reaching new folks to bring into your work.

Our audience members are not passive couch potatoes. Rather, Free Speech TV viewers are dedicated, highly motivated changemakers who are passionate about social justice, well-informed about current issues, and highly engaged in civic life. They explicitly come to Free Speech TV to find a political home, join others in action and make a difference on the issues most important to them.

Free Speech TV serves as a matchmaker between our audience and our frontline partners. Our viewers trust that if they lean left, they can swipe right with Free Speech TV’s picks!

How Does FSTV Partner With Organizations?

  • We amplify our partners’ events, advocacy campaigns and online resources. We reinforce narratives that center the interests, diversity and agency of everyday folks working together to build the best America still to come.
  • We broadcast and stream partners’ existing video content.
  • We develop new, co-produced video content with our Circle of Solidarity Partners – organizations with whom we’re cultivating long-term relationships of meaningful mutual support.

FSTV is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public interest broadcaster. We follow strict FCC guidelines to ensure all underwriting messages are educational and non-commercial—but that doesn’t mean they aren’t powerful. Your message becomes part of the story, and part of the movement.

MEET OUR PARTNERS

How Does FSTV Support Its Impact Partners’ Events, Advocacy Campaigns, and Online Resources?

Free Speech TV measures our success by the social justice “wins” we help our impact partners and our viewers achieve through in-person and virtual convenings and strategic advocacy campaigns:

  • Livestreaming and/or broadcast of events, both live and pre-recorded.
  • Promotion of select Partner events, advocacy campaigns, and online resources (“how to” primers, “know your rights information, etc.) through such means as:
  • FSTV Speaks promotional videos (calls-to-action produced in-house by FSTV).
  • Airing and sharing Partners’ promotional videos on broadcast, streaming, and social media platforms.
  • Inclusion in our on-air and online crawls (ie, a “news ticker” running across the screen).
  • Inclusion in our online Calendar of Events and Resistance Resources page.
  • Inclusion in our newsletters
  • Paid promotion via on-air underwriting and digital advertising.
  • Attending in-person events, where we document actions and film interviews with featured speakers and other attendees.
  • Note: Free Speech TV does not endorse political candidates or ballot measures.

How Does FSTV Support Its Impact Partners’ Existing Video Content?

Some of the best social justice content is produced by our impact partners, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share it with Free Speech TV’s viewers across our national television and digital platforms.

A few examples of video-producing partners:

  • More Perfect Union
  • AFL-CIO’s “Department of People Who Work for a Living”
  • Inequality Media with Robert Reich
  • National Lawyers Guild

What About New Co-Produced Video Content?

The top aspiration of our Impact Partnership Program is the development and co-production of new content tailored to tell the stories of our partners’ community members and to meet the programming desires of our network’s viewers.

We are interested in exploring content ideas that will appeal to a broader audience who may not currently identify as “activists,” but are values-aligned. We are particularly eager to experiment with new formats that mix social justice content with entertainment, such as compelling personal storytelling, music and the arts, game or cooking shows, reality programs, sports, etc. Co-produced content can be short- or long-form; one-off programs or episodic series.

This process begins with an assessment of our respective needs and resources. We then develop a vision for the content and a written treatment of the proposed content. We may produce a short sizzle reel to present the concept, or we may produce a pilot episode as a proof-of-concept. Because video production is costly, we explore potential funding sources and jointly solicit support. When sufficient resources are available, we work together to produce, promote and distribute the programming, along with any ancillary resources or calls-to-action, with the impact partner taking the lead.
