Keynote: John Perkins: Exploiting 3rd-World Countries
John Perkins is an economist and author. His best known book is "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" (2004), an insider's account of the exploitation or neo-colonization of Third World countries by what Perkins describes as a cabal of corporations, banks and the U.S. government. "The Secret History of the American Empire" makes further claims about the negative impact of global corporations on the economies and ecologies of poor countries and suggestions for making corporations behave more like good citizens.

My Father Volunteered
My father volunteered & fought in WWII.{a thinker type brain, less an action type} after the war, he joined the communist party & wrote articles for the news paper about Russia. He was really a liberal Democrat living in Texas, always believing that once a human being had the basics of life, then life opens up to the better parts of life, the creative parts, the arts, the philosophers etc. {He would predict that one day there would be so much materialism, well, it would be so plentiful that it would loose its value for us humans, we would be free to value the truly important things of life.}
My Mom hated politics. she would insist that he at least, ate meals at the table, with the news casts turned off. Dad was loosing his hearing & the frequent frowns & shushes at us kids, plus, parental arguements, didn't leave us with good vibes as for as politics goes.} I remember not liking conservative Democrats.
They were liars, they were really republicans trying to get votes, anyway they could. When I was about 8 or 9 years old, I remember seeing the blacks being thrown out & not being able to vote because they didn't have the $3.00 poll tax required. I felt, "how wrong this was in our wonderful democracy!" I'm now, watching --"The best Government money can buy" All of us are being thrown out! How wrong this is for our wonderful Democracy! My son is a small business man, & a Ron Paul follower.
The only one out of my four children that is interested in politics like is Grandaddy. We love to discuss politics. My being dyslectic have thought that our educational system was a dogmatic version of England's. We loose the talents of our youth. We can teach the basics while the students follow their interests what they love to learn about. One famous playwrite said do what you love to do & there is where you will find your true talents. I believe we need each other & are not happy without each other. One person can't do everything well or know about everything. We enjoy a great singer, etc.{We enjoy each others talents & will naturally support each other in those pursuits. We hear people talk about how happy they are making a living doing what they love doing!
John Perkins says this. His speech to me ties Ron Paul's politics to liberal politics, uniting us. I like the word- LIBERTY- It to me , is being loved for our uniqueness. The more diversity the better. We are the only geneouses of our own unique selves. I love learning. I wasn't a big fan of schools today. I've attended 7 years of college. No Diploma
The Change has come
By speaking out, John Perkins is a part of a bigger change. Awareness is growing. Thank the internet and brave souls like Mr. Perkins. The harder those in power squeeze the masses, the more surely they will lose their grip. It is inevitable that the next stage in human evolution is coming and that it is not by destroying ourselves that the change will occur. Take heart, it is happening right now and there is nothing that the World Bank, the IMF, any military or anyone else can do. The beauty is that, like Ghandi's overthrow of England, it will be peaceful and bloodless. Something wonderful is about to happen.
I Am Depressed
I honestly rack my brain, study history, read everything I get my hands on regarding world problems and I do not see a way out. This is ingrained to deeply into the human element. People talk about change but nothing really changes. How many revolutions have there been throughout history and they all end up becoming the object of another revolution, it doesn't end, it will never end. There is something wrong with people. I admire this man for making the change, but how long did it take, how convenient that he does so at the end of his career. How do we stop the young man who wants to make money and get women to stop and care about those whom his work harms. People say they care about others but actions don't show that. Would America say we will deal with the high cost of food so that these migrant workers can have a decent wage. Honestly and sadly I think the only way these terrible problems will be solved is when we destroy ourselves.
Confessions of an Economic Hitman
I read two of John's books and they are great, but everytime I spread the word of his message or let someone read my book, they tell me they don't believe, call if pure Fantasy, a"Conspiracy Therory", arg! Maybe linking this video to my friends social networks will change a little part of each of their lives.
